Angels Newsletter #32
Dear Friends of Angels of the Amazon,
We are pleased to communicate about the good progress on projects for the people of the Tahuayo River basin.
Education
El Chino High School & Elementary School, AoA Scholarship Program, New Library
We celebrate 10 years of transforming lives through education on the Tahuayo River. What an incredible journey we have shared with our partner, Be The Change Volunteers. This past July, we commenced the construction of the final classroom at El Chino School, which was successfully completed in September. With this addition, we now have eight classrooms at Jane Gordon Cook Elementary & High School. We also opened a new library this year, equipped with metal bookcases, books, power, and lights, providing students and teachers with a vibrant study space. The student council and teachers are thrilled to utilize this
new facility, and a dedicated group of parents and students has committed to caring for it. Next year we will be moving on to build a new classroom for the other large community of the Tahuayo, in Esperanza village.

Over the past decade, we’ve collaborated with remarkable volunteers and community members who share our vision. Many children who began their educational journey with us have now graduated high school and moved on to further their studies, either in Iquitos or other cities, paving the way for a brighter future. Local parents are hopeful, seeing the positive changes in their children’s education and continuing to support our initiatives for the community. Our AoA scholarship program is thriving, including two nursing students set to graduate next month, who will begin their internships at our Angels of the Amazon Hospital. Their success demonstrates that with the right support, students from our jungle communities can achieve their dreams. We hope our supporters will continue to invest in these programs as we look to the future.

Healthcare
The Angels of the Amazon Hospital remains a vital resource for many communities in and near the Tahuayo River. We are proud to have added new equipment from this year’s fundraiser, including a new microscope for the
laboratory. Our medical staff is exceptional, providing compassionate and comprehensive care. Patients feel comfortable seeking services, knowing they will receive not just medical attention, but also understanding and support.
Economics
Artisans and Chicken Farm
We continue to work closely with women artisans, who tirelessly hone their skills and innovate in their craft. Together, they collaborate on client orders and share materials, fostering a vibrant and joyful working environment. Their resilience and creativity are truly inspiring. Please know that we have artisan crafts available for sale on our website www.angelsoftheamazon.org They would make lovely Christmas gifts.

We will be working the next few months to complete
infrastructure for a new chicken farming project. It will provide income and at the same time alleviate pressure on local natural resources, which are now subject to overfishing. This important, new initiative aims to promote economic sustainability while preserving the environment. We will need your continued support in the next three years to successfully establish this program.
Your Donation
As we continue to navigate these challenges and expand our programs, we humbly ask for your support. Your donations make a real difference in the lives of the people we serve, empowering them to build a brighter future. No donations go to administrative overhead or administrative salaries (those expenses are covered by Amazonia Expeditions travel company). All donations go 100% to support the programs of education, health care and sustainable/conservation conscious economic development.
Thank you for your support! One child at a time!
Hope Lives!
